The Government on Thursday said that the 73rd Independence Day celebrations concluded peacefully across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. 

This was stated by Principal Secretary Planning and Development, Rohit Kansal, who is also Government’s spokesperson, at a daily evening presser here.

He said all the three divisions celebrated the Independence Day enthusiastically and the main function was held at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium,Srinagar where Governor Satya Pal Malik unfurled the National Flag.Mr Kansal further informed that today was the calm and peaceful day as no untoward incident was reported anywhere from Jammu, Kashmir or Ladakh.

He also informed that from today onwards to-and-fro nightflight operations would operate from Srinagar to Delhi and the first flight would take off this evening at 7: 15 pm with 150 passengers on board.He saidlocal authorities are reviewing all the decisions to ease the restrictions onthe movement of people.
